Anı Ekin Özdemir (1997, Istanbul) lives in Zurich, Switzerland, where she is pursuing an MA in Transdisciplinary Studies at the Zurich University of the Arts. She is an artist and writer working mainly with poetry, photography and publishing.
Her work is nourished by new materialism, where one approaches things with inclusive worldviews, methodologies and ontologies; where things are related in a kind of uneasy but nevertheless inextricably irreducible way. Through her artistic practice, she looks for ways of building a "home"
and belonging together through imaginations and poetical thinking with watery gestures.
Outside of her studies, Ekin works as curatorial assistant in Shedhalle Zurich and enjoys observing the phases of the moon, overpacking books for her trips, collecting stones and shells, writing letters and words, and drawing sketches for no one in particular.
